Feeling sporty today? Eh...not really, but this popped into my head.

Well, you haven't seen one of these for a while. It doesn't mean that I've stopped doing them. Still like the pencil you'll be happy to hear, and I still do these even though I've been posting other stuff lately. Typical sketch book page.

So for all of these illustrations, I've used the simplest shape and amount of lines to describe the form. Big influences for me, among many, many others are Hirschfeld and Eyvind Earle. If you thought that Earle just did beautiful landscapes, you should check out his figurative illustrations. Clean, simple and graphic. I suppose being an animator, I'm always looking for clean lines of action, readable shapes, and simple graphics so you can instantly see what I want to draw your eye too.

Extra note...Oh, this seems to fit the newest illustration friday theme so instead of reposting I'll just link you here....oops, sorry for messing up the initial post to IF.

Here's another sexy girl.... oh....eh.... nevermind. I told you the theme would change soon. The reason you're seeing this vector work is beacuse I was having trouble uploading certain type of files. Rather than wait to hear back about a fix, I stumbled upon a work around and switched mediums so I could keep posting. I'll get back to posting some sketches soon, but I'm having too much fun right now to stop. All these vector sketches are done straight on a tablet. No ruffs, no messing, and exploring as I'm finding my way through the program. Experimenting is good.

There's something nice and simple about using these vector lines to create an image. Doing this with a wacom tablet has such a different feel to it. Each medium seems to have it's own style for me. Kind of like each individual musical instrument has a different character in it that comes out when it is played. It's like having a favourate type of pencil or pen. Then again, after a while it's good to break up patterns and styles. I'll probably change up some styles in a few days.

And another. I've really fallen for using illustrator. I'll be curious myself to see the progression as I learn more about the program.

Hello, glad to be back again. Thanks for dropping by while I was away. I haven't done too many of these type of drawings, but the flow of the line was just asking for it. Let me know if anyone else is having trouble posting .tiff files. I can't seem to upload that type of file over the last couple of days. It used to work fine.
