The Great Twitter 3D Giveaway. 10 of my groundbreaking "DEPTH CHARGE, 3D ILLUSIONS" books are up for grabs. Join my world of 3D Illusions by following me on Twitter.
All winners will get one of these books signed, with an original drawing on the inside page!
RULES:
There are two ways to win a book. 10 books up for grabs and I'll keep drawing names until 10 books are gone! You have to be following me on Twitter to enter!
1. First chance to win.....If you follow me on Twitter at "thedalyblog", your names go into in the hat. Easy.
If you are already following me on Twitter, then you are already entered!
2. Second chance to win, "The Good Karma Chance!"...If you mention this competition about my 3D book and your followers follow me on Twitter and mention your name in an @ reply to @thedalyblog then BOTH you AND that person will receive a book if their name is pulled out of the hat...
After following me, simple message in Twitter to @thedalyblog like "Hey @"insert name here" sent me your way!" will be cool.
That way I'll have both names. Easy! Good Karma all the way.
The more people that sign up and mention you, the more chances you have of winning!
WHERE AM I ON TWITTER? Right HERE!
Competition runs JUST THIS WEEK and ends at midnight PST, this Friday, 29th of May. I'll post the winners on Saturday night and also send you a message directly on twitter if you win.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by to say hello. Had a great time meeting you in person.
I'm a bit too wrecked now after the drive back to do a 3D Illustration for today, but I'll try to get one up before the end of the week. I'll also give more of an update once I get myself back on track. I enjoyed the whole weekend, and you guys were the reason for it. For the moment, a quick sketch of someone with her comics and books in hand....
Here's a handy map to my table D19. Anything brand spanking new? Well, for the first time since I started the 3D Illustrations, I'll be bringing a larger format print with me. Can't wait to show it to you. I usually do these at a smaller size due to a comfort level with your eyes. Slightly different way to look at this than usual. Should be fun. Now that I'm mobile, I'll be twittering away at the event. Check out the sidebar for the micro blogging, or if you're on twitter, follow me @thedalyblog.
Well that snuck up really quickly. WonderCon coming up this coming weekend in San Francisco. Looking forward to bringing the 3D up north and showing you in person. Come by and say hello. I'd love to see you.
Here's the link to WonderCon. To see this image in 3D without the glasses, read the quick How To See My 3D Illustrations. Please DON'T cross your eyes to see these. It's much, MUCH more comfortable to stare through these images, and I've made them for that kind of viewing. See you Friday to Sunday!

Getting ready for WonderCon in San Francisco next weekend. First time to exhibit in the beautiful city, so make sure you say hello if you're going. I love meeting everyone that follows the blog. I'll be at table D19. Look for my avatar image on the sign and you'll find me, the baldy guy, signing books below it.
Have a cool weekend everyone.

Hope you all had a good new year. Best wishes to you all. So, I've lots of things going on this year and I'll let you in on things as time goes on. Right now I'm planning the "Not Your Granny's 3D" tour! Hooray.
Now I'm not one to be yammering on with lots of text in this blog but please read on as you'll find out what to expect in the coming year.
I've just joined Facebook and Twitter, and added the panels on the sidebar so I'll be doing micro blogging from there. So even if I don't have a post up for a couple of days, you'll see what I'm up to. If you're on either of those sites come find me and say hello. I've got a lot of stuff to find out about this year, so I'll take you on that trip as well through those micro posts. Last year was a huge learning curve for me. Now I know so more about the publishing industry and I know that will come in very handy for future projects.
Also, this year I'm going to try to do three posts a week. After finishing my 3D Illusions book, a lot of time was spent on things other than drawing. So, time to put that right again and spend more time at the drawing board.
Also, I'm starting a new feature on this blog. I'm going to call the section "The Daly Tree". There are a couple of reasons for the name. One of them being that I wanted to create a section of things that I found inspiring. This past year was so inspirational for me because of the wealth of unbelievable work going on in the blogsphere. I'm not just talking about artwork, but a whole range of design posts which I hope will feed your quest for cool things. I wanted to give you something that you might not have discovered on your regular stops. I'll give out three links that I've come across which I think you might enjoy. The branches will be an individual post which could be anything. They could be older posts or brand spanking new posts. An eclectic "soup of somethings" you may have missed, hopefully to feed the mind and inspire creativity. It's up to you discover more from the people I branch off to.
So help the tree grow by clicking the branches (links) below. Hopefully they will be inspiring to you too. Feed the tree to help it grow....
THE DALY TREE for today........

Merry Christmas everyone. This is one of Santa's helpers. Hope you've been good. Thanks for visiting this ol' blog through the year and if you took the time to leave a comment or two, well, you just make my day :)
This will probably be the last post of the year. What an interesting year art wise it was for me. Three of the highlights...... my 3D images and book changed everything for me and I met a ton of new people because of it. I had the honour of been asked to be part of The Totoro Forest Project, and I had a Gallery show. What a rockin' year. Thanks all for the support.
I just joined Facebook too, so if you're in there look me up.
I'll see you all after the holidays!

Hey Everyone, glad you liked the last brushwork post. There'll be more of these to come. In the meantime, this happened.
My best friend wanted a tattoo for her birthday and asked me to design it. Fab!!!
I get the odd email asking about designing tattoos, but this was the first time it was going to be done, and it's huge, huge honor for me.
We booked in to get the tattoo, and on Saturday the tattoo was completed. Fascinating and very cool to see the whole process in action. Of course, the copyright and web site was just for this post. :)

Hello all. Hmmmm, things look a little different around here. Thought it was time for a change. Bits and pieces will change to the template over the next while. Temp placeholders for the moment for title and sidebar stuff...
Doing some real artwork lately. I mean the physical type you can touch. You really can't beat using real material. So to all who drop by regularly, I'll be posting frequently pretty soon.

Happy Friday everyone. Thanks to all those who visited at APE. You make my day when I meet you and find out that you read my blog! Glad the heavy rain didn't stop you guys and girls on Saturday.
I was very happy to share my table with Corey Bass, a wonderful pastel artist with his own comic. I also had the pleasure of sitting next to Audra Ann Furuichi and Scott Yoshinaga from NEMU-NEMU. What a great and cute all ages comic. Get their plushies while they last!
So thanks for the support. It's so good to share my 3D images with a new city in person.

WOW.
Let me say that again.
WOW.
If you can score a copy of the book, please try to do it soon as I know they are running out quickly. Check in on the Totoro Forest Project Blog for info on where it might be still available. I can't even begin to describe what a joy this book is.
I just received my comp copy (thanks for dropping it down Andrea) and seeing the reactions from my kids as we go through the book together is utterly priceless. Their world has just been expanded by an infinite degree thanks to all the participating artists.
Again, it was a complete honor to be a part of this cause.
Cheers Dice, Enrico, Ronnie, Yukino and the whole project team that organized the event.

Here's a sheet just for fun while testing out the new Prismacolor Premier Brush Pens. It will be hard to drag me away from my trusty Pitt Brush Pens though. I love the Prismacolor pencils, so it's good to see them offering colored brush pens. They do have pretty thin barrels on them compared to the Pitt pens which might take a bit of getting used to. Either way, I'm more concerned with what comes out of the tip of them.
