Cartoon Modern
Wow, Thursday already. Where has the time gone? Oh yeah, I know. I've been devouring Amid Amidi's Cartoon Modern book. Listen, this is a must have book for any collection about art, design, animation and just all around inspiration. My library is a much better place now that this is part of it. What an important addition. No excuses. Just go get it now. To read some reviews much more eloquent than mine (I'm just spreading the news) and links to where it is available, go to Amid's Cartoon Modern Blog. Thanks Amid for putting this together. Your hard work is very much appreciated.

Oscar -ette
As much as I loved playing around with colour on this one, I still think it looked better this way.
If the Oscar had a girlfirend, I think she'd look like this.......
hmmmm, or maybe it's just because the I saw new Christina Aguilera video....

More Playing
Shoulda played around with colour years ago. Better late than never.
Oh yeah, just noticed I've been blogging for a year. Ha, over a week late. I never was good at remembering birthdays.
Thank you all so much for the support and encouragement over the course of the blog. Really, really appreciate it. You've seen things change around here over time. I wonder what's next?
Doing the blog has certainly made an impact on me. Loads of new friends and fellow bloggers who inspire me to do more. I thank you all.
Here's today's experiment.....

Slpash
Experimenting again. I haven't done too much colour stuff, but I had a bunch of fun doing this quick colour splash. It's nice to have inspiration from the fab Kevin Dart.
I'll be oogling his prints for a long time to come.
Also, go visit my friend Kevin Maclean for all your stop motion goodness. He just started his own corner of blogland.
And so to today's offering.....

Still
UPDATE, UPDATE.......
when I was on holiday in Ireland I had the pleasure of meeting up with Tomm and Aidan from Cartoon Saloon. I just found out from Tomm's blog, that Aidan started up a blog called
Skunk Fu! which is the production he is working on. Go there now and give him some love. Can't wait to see some kickass groovy stuff. I've just been checking out his friends links too and loads of eye candy awaits. Cheers Aidan, thanks for sharing.
Now, back to the pic.....
Quiet day for the girl.

Random Stuff
Here's some random doodles and unfinished thoughts from my sketch pad. Not for anything more than just the fun of drawing and feeling the pencil against the paper. I do these kind of sketches all the time. Haven't put any of these up lately 'cos my interests lie elsewhere at the moment. All things in good time. If only there was more time in the day. So here's a quick blast Sam. These ones are for you.

Saturday Evening Post
Catching up on my blog reading after my trip. So little time to look at so much work. I'm always amazed and humbled.
Browsing around I came across someone I used to work with at Bluth.
Barry Atkinson
has just started a blog. I wish I picked his brain about painting at the time because his bg work is fantastic. Then you'll see his sculpts. I remember been blown away when I saw some of his work up close. Go there now. I can't wait to see what he shares with us. Cool Barry, welcome to blogland.
Here's my Saturday Evening Post.......

Greeny
So little time, so many things to catch up on. Gotta etch out time to research and study. Hmmm, maybe I'll post a little less than usual. Not enough hours in the day. Still, managed to get this one out the door. Some days work better than others for me. Some days are just a struggle when every line just doesn't seem to work. The upside is that you learn a hell of a lot more from those days, even though it may take a while to work it out and figure out why things aren't working.
So finally, here's Greeny. She was high maintanance......
