Earring Trouble

Yikes, this one took forever to do. When you see an image in your head and you just can't get the lines right, it can be a right pain. Just as well I'm a persistant bugger. Getting around problems and defining what is actually wrong can take a whole bunch of time. Finally this appeared out of simplifying all the shapes.

Chicken Caesar

Chicken Caesar is a project I started a while ago. It had been put on hold for far too long. So rather than let it languish in unseen obscurity, I thought I'd show you some work from it. It's a computer animation short and I wanted it to look like the sketches in the colour illustration below. It will give you an idea of what I was looking to achieve. Unfortunately, time is an enemy. I may get to complete it one day. I may just do it traditionally instead. We'll see what happens. Right now I'll just tease you with some images. Chicken, dog, egg. That's what the story is wrapped around.

Shape Push

Pushing shapes around again. Here's a variety of different styles. It really depends on which way I feel like drawing at the time I do them. I much prefer to see an energetic ruff than a polished drawing. In a way that frees you up to explore and push shapes around. You can always go back in and tighten everything up, but most time I just leave it alone.

Heinrich Kley, probably one of the finest examples of penmanship around and absolutly one of my favourate artists. (you do have to click around a little on the site to see inside the books).
And there is also this site I came accross recently Paul Giambarba called 100 Years of Illustration, an incredible resourse which makes you want to search more for more work from the artists he has presented.

Sisters and Bitches

Hmmmm, I wonder which is which? The old brush pen back in action. Things have gotten busy over the last few days, therefore the lack of posts. I may slightly decrease the amount of posts I put up because I need time to research and study in order to move forward. Learning takes time and it will eat into my posting a bit, but it's all for the sake of improving, so forgive me in advance. Besides, I also need time to look at all your excellent work too.
