Going out

Off she goes. I should have stopped her and asked her where she was going. Looks like fun.

Back Again

Hello, hello, hello. Back again. Had a really great break. Loads of fun. Headed back to Ireland for the whole holiday. Time goes by way too quick. Trying to fit everything in is impossible. Had fun trying though. Thanks to all who dropped by while I was gone.
This week I'll put up some of the work I did while I was there. Here's the first one.
Say Hello to Aoife.....

Chillin'

Hooray, it's holiday time. I'm off for a while. If I get a chance I may post some bits and pieces. I'll be back to regular posting by mid July. Anyone new to my blog, welcome, and check out the archives and all the links.
In the meantime , here's today's offering to the cartoon gods. See you all in a while.

Wine

Cool, I'll keep putting up some of the older sketches every once in a while. Now back to the stuff I'm doing now. This girl reminded me of a bottle of wine. I wonder if she's sweet or tarty.

From the Vault

A couple of years ago, there was a flood in my place and I lost a whole bunch of artwork, scribbles, doodles etc. Crap time. Last weekend I had a bit of time to get some stuff in order. Tucked away on a shelf, hidden from view, was a stack of doodles and half thoughts made on a couple of hundred sheets of copy paper that for some reason I had put up there and forgotten about. Inadvertantly, this misplacement saved them from the water and being chucked in the bin. Happy to find them, I'll post some of them up here. I'll just add a couple of images every day to this post all this week.
I was talking to Jenny from The Blackwing Diaries about how cool it is to see thought process in drawings, and how someone searches for a pose and how great it is to see scribbles and doodles which reveal a process or thoughts or unfinished half thoughts on the art bogs. I love it. I've always preferred the ruff drawings in animation. So here are some of mine. No rhyme or reason other than a wandering pen let loose on the paper looking for shape differences or just exploring a character.. The best thing about this, is that doing these types sketches for me helped me get a more confident line. If a sketch doesn't work, it doesn't matter. I learnt from the mistakes and moved on. So here we go......

Marie Antoinette

For Illustration Friday's Cake theme.
"Let them eat cake", she said, "just like Marie Antoinette".
Unfortunately, it's believed that she never actually uttered these words, but she's famous for it anyway. Sacre bleu!!! Don't lose your head, especially when it's stuffed with cake.

And in keeping with the theme, here's Red. Poor ol' Wolfie won't know what hit him.

Goldilocks

So, a post at last. I may be a bit slow to get to comments and posting these days, so hang on. In the meantime, I think I'll start reinventing the fairytails. This is Goldilocks.

Spots

Thank you all so much for the comments from the last post. I really appreciate the good feelings sent over the net. What a great online community. I'm always amazed with the support and good will of my fellow artists. Someday I hope to meet you all, so for the moment, please know of my sincere thanks.
Well, obviously, I've got my hands full right now, so my posts will probably be a little sporadic for the next little while, but I will post when I can. Check below the image for The Nicktoons Film Festival info.
Almost tired enough to see spots, but thankfully I see other things too.....
